And here's where I geek out a bit, and say that didn't necessarily have to be a setup for a joke. The really powerful stereo amps are much in demand at deaf parties, because when they're at wake-'em-up-the-next-street-over level, they vibrate to the beat. People tip them over onto the floor, slip their shoes off and feel the beat through their stocking feet; great for dancing!

That had actually occurred to me, though I doubt that this particular stereo was powerful enough to be useful.

But it was still an intersting conversation to observe.
