Last night, I discovered that knowing how to do the Heimlich on yourself can be lifesaving.

I got a noodle caught in my trachea, and coughed so hard that my muscles seized up and my body felt like
pins and needles. Y'know, that "my foot is asleep" feeling, but all over. After about 15 seconds, I slammed my
fist into my diaphragm and propelled the noodle out, and could breathe again. It took about 5 minutes for
the muscle pains to subside to tolerable levels. I could only lay there whimpering.

OUCH. That's all I can say.

I'm still feeling it today, too.

What's the point of this entry? A play for sympathy, of course. :-) Also, I want to urge anyone reading
this (yes, all two of you) to learn how to do a self-Heimlich. It's important!
