flewellynApparently, Bob Woodward was interviewed on CBS' "60 Minutes" last night. I didn't see it then, but I found video atDemocratic Underground and watched that. Woodward was talking about his new book, "Plan of Attack", which discusses the planning of the Iraq War. He interviewed 75 military and administration officials, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity. Interestingly, Bush was willing to speak on the record. At any rate, the 60 Minutes segment discussed many of the highlights of the book.
I am now scared shitless.
For one thing, apparently Bush showed the Saudi Prince Bandar a copy of our war plan document, marked "Top Secret: No Foreign". He disclosed classified information to a foreign official. Isn't that sort of thing impeachable?
Another thing: this same Prince Bandar promised Bush that the Saudi government would ramp up oil production in the coming months, lowering the price of oil so that the economy would be stronger in time for the election. In other words, Bush is conspiring with a foreign government to influence the outcome of our election. Isn't that sort of thing impeachable, too?
Oh, yes, they also funneled $700 million from funds Congress allocated to the Afghanistan war to building up for Iraq. In other words, appropriating funds from the treasury without the permission or approval of Congress. Isn't that sort of thing impeachable, as well?
The scariest thing, though, was what Woodward stated Bush's response was to the question "How will history judge your Iraq War?"
Bush shrugged and said "History? We won't know, we'll all be dead."
