Quit hitting yourself!
Oct. 12th, 2007 12:55 pmSo, apparently, Bush blames the Democrats for denying health care to poor children by passing a bill that he's expected to veto.
Let's take a look at that again. The bill the Democratic congress is trying to pass expands the coverage available through the State Children's Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP), from $35 billion to $60 billion anually, thus covering more children. Bush has threatened to veto the bill if it passes. If the bill is vetoed, the federal funding for SCHIP will not be renewed, and thus children currently covered by SCHIP will be dropped.
That sounds a hell of lot to me like Bush is the one denying coverage. For him to blame the Democrats for it...well, I'm reminded of the childhood bully who grabs another kid's hands, uses them to hit the kid, and then taunts "Quit hitting yourself!" Or the man who beats up his girlfriend or wife on the flimsiest of pretexts, and then shouts "Look what you made me do!" Abusers' logic, and it's being used to justify the actions of the President of the United States.
