Felis ridiculous.

Many people do not believe me when I describe my middle (in age) cat, Miette, as "the most graceless ball of furry flab ever to lay claim to the name feline". They always cite examples of their own cats doing goofy things like trying to jump and then missing the landing and falling down, or running around and banging into things.

However, tonight I saw absolute proof.

Miette came into the living room just a moment ago, carrying her stuffed crab. This is a small stuffed animal that I sewed together about 15 years ago or so, when I was futilely trying to learn to sew. She loves to carry this thing around the apartment, dropping it in random places, and then ignoring it for a few days.

Tonight, she brought it in, dropped it on the floor, and then started to trot towards me...

...and tripped over the crab.

Uh-huh.

Wow...that truly IS pathetic

All true, I swear.

Now she's behind me, laying on her back, legs splayed out, belly exposed.

She looks like she wants a belly rub, but do not give in to that temptation. She will shred ya.

Awww. Poor Miette. XD

Mei-mei would let you rub her belly.

*laughs uncontrollably*

Oh, oh, oh dear god in heaven. Oh, the poor, poor girl.

Yes, that takes the cake. No argument here.

Has the Mocus ever tripped over something?

Something she just put down?

[identity profile] naamah-darling.livejournal.com 2006-03-01 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No. The dog trips, but he has an excuse -- he has only one front leg!

Heheheeh! I've got a doggie one for you: Samson the Boxer is standing in the bedroom staring at me soulfully.

Me: What's the matter? You need to go out?

Sam: Long loving stare

Me: Okay, come on, I'll let you out.

Sam turns around and takes off for the doorway, except he misses and bangs his head right into the door frame.

*splrf* That's a good one.

I had a cat named Kiko once, who was a big, beautiful, fluffy Maine Coon cat (it's an American variety, known for large size and long fur), and was stupid as all hell.

He was of the "knock into things while running around full tilt" variety. But what set him apart was that if he knocked into something like, say, a wall, he would not merely look chagrined and walk away.

No no. He was absolutely FURIOUS that any mere inanimate barrier would dare to stand in his way. He would HISS, back up, and angrily charge the wall again. Head first. Repeatedly.

Fortunately, he absorbed the entire impact with his brain, so there was no damage. Nonetheless, this was somewhat worrying to watch. (I was very concerned for my health after nearly perforating my intestine from laughing so hard.)

Hahaha, that's too funny! Oh I wish you would've gotten that on tape. :))

Hilarous, but poor old Mog! She's not getting a bit short sighted with age I hope.

Miette isn't that old, though. She's only 8.

Yitzak, who is 14, is far more sure-footed.

Your cat sounds like mine...

Also, would it bother you if I added you to my friends list? You sound interesting...

[identity profile] flewellyn.livejournal.com 2006-03-01 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, wouldn't bother me at all. Read my info about that and such. :-)

How'd you find me?
