Just because it seems to be a common topic on LJ these days...

I just want to say, I do not hate furries.

I don't.

I consider the "normal" sort of furrydom a bit interesting, psychologically, and I'm a bit...perplexed...by the
furries who take it to sexual lengths. It's not my thing, but then, football isn't my thing, and I don't ridicule
football fans...well, okay, I do, but only because it's funny. :-) I can't say I'd enjoy being hit on by a furry,
but then, I don't enjoy being hit on by anybody, really; the attention makes me uncomfortable.

Regardless, I don't think furries are evil, weird, sick, perverted, or disturbed, unless the furry person
in question thinks of those things as compliments. :-) I could care less what two or more consenting
adults do in the privacy of their own home with a fur suit, a wisk, a can of shaving foam, cellophane,
tights, and a miner's helmet. I'd probably rather not see the pictures or videotape, but I won't condemn
people for their sexuality, as long as it does not include children or beings whose consent cannot be
determined, such as actual animals.

At any rate, I'm rather upset by a new round of "bashing" going across the net about furrydom.
I mean, it's not as though the furries are trying to get in everyone's face about it. They're certainly
not proselytizing! It's just...a thing, man.

Flew, I love ya! I just about choked on my water when I read this line

I agree - it's not like it's pedophilia or something. Hell, I'd say toilet sex was a good deal worse than a bunch of people pretending to be animals, or even people getting it on with stuffed animals (hopefully the toy kind).

Sure, some people like to get tied up and whipped and do it in handcuffs - but in an animal suit? Oooh, perverse. It's like Jackson's nipple - blown WAY out of proportion.

[random]You're amazing.[/random]

(By the way, what language uses pound-quote? I'm too used to C...)

Well, thank you! Who are you? I don't think I recognize the name.
Not that I'm opposed to new folks finding the journal, mind you...just wondering.

"(By the way, what language uses pound-quote? I'm too used to C...)"

Ahh, that'd be Common Lisp. #' (sharp-quote) means "return the functional binding of this symbol". So #'comment would be "return the function that's bound to the symbol comment". As opposed to just saying "comment", which would get its value as a variable. Yes, you can have a variable and a function with the same name! Fun language, that.

Mmm, I know what you mean.
No, you don't know me, thus the usage of the random tag.

Yeesh.

Every consentual form of sexual expression is a-o-k in my book.

Except furries.

Every furry I have met has been immensely irritating. And did proselytize at me.

Well, if they proselytize, hit them with sticks. I do that to Jehovah's Witnesses. It works wonders at keeping them away.
