An open letter to Michael Savage

Michael Savage, right-wing talk radio host and demagogic spewer of hate, has outdone himself this time. Discussing the murder of San Francisco transgender woman Ruby Rodriguez, his contribution to public discourse was to label the victim a "psychopath" and a "freak", who "should have been in a back ward in a straitjacket for years, howling on major medication". You can read more about it, and listen to the broadcast, here at MediaMatters.

Well, I have composed a response to him, which I decided I would post as an open letter.
Dear Mr. Savage,

I am sorry to inform you that your services as a human being are no longer required. As of this notification, your position as a member of the human race is hereby terminated. Please gather your belongings and leave the species at once. We might suggest you seek out a more suitable species, such as leeches. Do not ask us for a reference.

Sincerely,
Humanity

For fucking real. Rargh. I KNOW that part of conservative extremism is just to get a reaction, just like Howard Stern, but seriously.... I just can't understand how words like that come out of people's mouths.

I like your response better, mine started off with 'you fucking asshole' and went downhill from there. ;-)

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] onceupon; even to get a reaction I don't get how people can stoop that low.

Seriously, what gaping, cave-cheese infested hellmouth do people like this come from?

There's something ironic about people like this calling others psychopaths and freaks.

That's actually kind of insulting to the leeches (sp. Hirudia), which occupy a vital environmental niche and have been used for medicinal purposes for centuries now.

I can't actually think of any species that deserves to be classed with him. Even mosquitos and dung beetles do more good to the planet they occupy than Savage does.
