Memeage from [livejournal.com profile] deza

Write something for me. Just for me. A sentence, a paragraph. Nanofiction. Short story. A scene, dialogue, a picture described, a moment, anything. Long or short. But it's got to be just for me.

Then feel free to put this up in your own journal, and I'll reciprocate.

Note that I will be happy to reciprocate in comments.

Once upon a time, a hamster lived in New Jersey, if you could call that living. One night, she sat typing in the basement while a ska band rehearsed in the next room. The drum kit was just by the door and it overwhelmed everything else. I mean, she could hear the dass and the horns and the singer, but mostly drums. Not the best spot for audio happiness, you see. So what did she do about it? Nothing! She continued prattling on Live Journal as if it would take away the pain of the too much drums. But it didn't.

Ah, but the too much drums wasn't the only issue! She was also Not Doing Her Homework! Egad, and what the heck? And as the Request for Short Tales of Life grew in her comment post, the time to get her 1000-word missive (in APA format, to boot!) was shrinking at a rapid rate. Does the hamster really care? Probably not; she's not feeling too well due to too much White Castle and, again, from the too much drums. But maybe they'll play the song about Superheroes next. That'd be good. Yay!

Also, not a quote from me, but part of a story one of my friends wrote, and I need to share --

"I'm surrounded by children and possibly Cloris Leechman."

She's so funny.

At the end of every day, if you can look back and laugh, you're winning.
